With effect from 1st September 2010, the BRFST Board has enhanced the research fellowships of the project staff employed in projects sanctioned under the National Fusion Programme (NFP). The amended fellowships are as follows ;

 

JRF :   Rs.16,000/- p.m.  (+ HRA as per PI's institute norms) – Fresh Postgraduate (MSc.,         M.Tech., MCA etc).

 

SRF : Rs. 18,000 p.m. (+ HRA as per PI's institute norms) - Post graduation + 2 years research experience.

 

Qualification : NET qualified OR 1st Class in the qualifying examination.

 

Please note that the basic qualifications for JRF/SRF and especially for a non-NET candidate must be strictly followed.

 

There will be no enhancement for non-NET qualified project staff who do not have 1st class in the qualifying examination.  

 

For non-JRF/SRF category staff, the old fellowship norms will continue i.e., 

 

Project Assistant - I : Fresh B.Tech/BE : Rs. 8,000/- p.m. (+ HRA as per PI's institute norms)

Project Assistant - II :B.Tech/BE  with 2 years experience : Rs.10,000/- p.m. (+ HRA as per PI's institute norms)

 

The project staff with BE/BTech qualifications should have completed their course and should be a full-time staff in the project.

 

Non-scientific staff (Tech. Assistant, Project Asst. etc) will not be supported by BRFST. Non scientific staffs are to be provided by the PI's institute.

 

The PI's can implement this scheme with effect from 1-September 2010. The PI may request for additional budget if required, to adjust this excess expenditure. 



 

 

From April 2010, BRFST will support partial funding for foreign travel (subject to approval of the Board on a case-to-case basis), for presentation of research papers arising out of BRFST funded projects that have been accepted for presentation in a foreign conference. This support will be available only for project staff working in the project and registered for PhD and will be subject to scrutiny and approval by the Board. Funding will be provided only after the student undertakes the journey. Please note that BRFST does not support registration fees & other expenses for foreign conferences.
