Q. What kind of conferences are supported ? A. Any kind of national/international conference, workshop, topical meeting, school, symposium in which areas related to fusion science & technology are dealt with as one of the major topics in the scope of the meeting could be supported by BRFST. Q. How much assistance can be provided by BRFST ? A. The quantum of assistance will be decided by the Board, based on its evaluation of the importance of the meeting and its relevance vis-à-vis fusion science & technology. Q. How early should one apply ? A. Typically, the application should reach BRFST 3 months prior to the date of the meeting. Since the Board meets in August and February, it would be ideal if the application is received in the beginning of these months so that the board can review it during the meeting.
Q. What documents need to be submitted while applying for funding assistance ? A. The following documents need to be submitted by e-mail : (i) Application in the appropriate format (.DOC) (ii) E-copy of the conference brouchure (PDF). (iii) forwarding letter from the head of the institution. (iv) Undertaking from the Convener/Chairman of the event. The originals may be sent by post to BRFST. Q. How soon will the sanctioned money be disbursed ? A. Once the Board accords its sanction and the quantum of financial assistance, the Convenor of the meeting will be informed by email and the amount will be disbursed by DD within 3-4 weeks.
Q. What does BRFST require from the conference organizers ? A. (i) The organizers should exhibit the logo of BRFST on ALL the conference materials and venues as a one of the sponsors of the meeting. (ii) Organizers have to arrange for registration / transport / local boarding & lodging for the BRFST representative who will attend the meeting. Q. What documents have to be submitted to BRFST after the conclusion of the meeting ? A. The organizers have to submit (i) Brief report on the symposium (ii) One set of ALL conference materials (ii) Audited Statement of Accounts from appropriate authority (iii) Fund Utilization Certificate (iv) List of all participants (along with email addresses). These documents/items have to reach BRFST not later than 3 months from the date of the conference.
